Working at the Sheriff's Department in order to learn more about law enforcement. I was one of the select 18 chosen out of the 100+ applicants in Suffolk County. I was given the opportunity to with the District Attorney's office members. I also got to visit the United States Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts State Police, the City of Boston's Mayor's Office, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Headquarters, the Massachusetts State House, Boston Police Department, Revere Police Department, Revere Fire Department, and the Office of the Attorney General. Additionally, I have met with FBI officials at their office/building, and was introduced to members of their SWAT team and the gear they use. On top of this, I have toured both the South Bay House of Correction and the Nashua Street Jail and spoken with both inmates and detainees.
Working with the state representative and his legal aid at the Massachusetts State House in order to learn more about representatives' and senators' roles. I was selected out of all of those in my district to be an intern of Rep. Turco's Office. I have provided research behind a variety of bills, and much more research behind what direction a stance on an issue should be. I have sat with representatives in their House Chamber (as well as the House Gallery) while they discussed and voted on bills, and I aid in issuing out and drafting constituent correspondence. I have also attended speaker sessions with a multitude of speakers, where I have continuously asked questions to parse out the details of their careers.
